What’s Happening this Month in your World
Embracing Personal, Global and Cosmic events to Enhance your Reality, written by Dana. Happy New Year!
Jan 3 Full Moon Cancer
Have you entered the New Year feeling like you want to nurture more people, or be nurtured more? The always emotional Full Moon falls today in its natural sign of Cancer, ruling all things maternal; taking care of others, wanting others to take care of you (but perhaps never getting around to asking for what you want and need?), enjoying being in a warm kitchen with nourishing food, a cozy, comfortable home after the fast pace of the festive season, experiencing deep sensitivity to feelings and higher than normal intuition. This full moon we are encouraged to express our needs clearly and openly, rather than repressing them. Waiting for people to guess our moods or read our minds only leads to a passive needy energy, and does not get our needs met! If you want something, ask! We are also encouraged to share our natural desire to fulfill the needs of others in healthy ways. Giving to others is great, giving to others while ignoring your self leads to smothering behavior – always keep your own cup full and you will have more than enough to share.
Jan 13 Make Your Dreams Come True Day
Did you make a Vision List for 2007? Today’s a good day to go over it and get some clarity and focus around what you really want to create this year…and start thinking about the details of how you are going to make it happen!
Jan 15 Martin Luther King Jr Day
Staying with the Cancer Full Moon energy today is a day for giving: “Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is not only for celebration and remembrance, education and tribute, but above all a day of service. All across America on the Holiday, his followers perform service in hospitals and shelters and prisons and wherever people need some help. It is a day of volunteering to feed the hungry, rehabilitate housing, tutoring those who can't read, mentoring at-risk youngsters, counseling the broken-hearted and a thousand other projects for building the beloved community of his dream…Dr. King once said that we all have to decide whether we "will walk in the light of creative altruism or the darkness of destructive selfishness. Life's most persistent and nagging question, he said, is `what are you doing for others?’”

Jan 19 New Moon Capricorn
The mountain-climbing goat is the bearer of this New Moon, which in many ways is the official start of the New Year. We’ve had a few weeks to recover from all the festivities, and slowly we’re getting back into ‘real life’. The New Moon is an excellent time to plant seeds for the future, and earthy Capricorn encourages us to get real, be grounded, work diligently toward our goals and create them by taking responsibility for them. He supports our dreams wholeheartedly but won’t let us get away with mere daydreaming, asking us to place one foot in front of the other to get where we want to go.
