When our grandmother
was diagnosed with breast cancer, several years after it had already touched
our mum who passed only three months into her diagnosis, a few people said to
my two sisters and I, “You girls better watch yourselves.” They meant to make sure we get regular
checks, which of course we do, but we also knew about the metaphysical link to
physical health issues. What thoughts/beliefs did our mother and grandmother
have in common that may be linked to the manifestation of the breast cancer?
That’s what we had to watch. We also knew about the energetic stories passed on
from generation to generation, as being proven now by the new scientific field
of Epigenetics. While the common consensus is that breast cancer is hereditary,
our feeling was that we needed to go deeper if we didn’t want to spend the rest
of our lives living in fear. Our situation brought up a question: is it the
physical breast cancer that is hereditary, or is it the beliefs/emotional
issues connected to the creation of that cancer that are hereditary, passed
down through the generations until addressed?
Metaphysical science, the study of our non-physical
reality which includes our energy bodies (our thoughts, emotions, chakras,
cellular and ancestral memory etc), has repeatedly indicated that physical body
symptoms and diseases often if not always originate on the energetic levels
prior to manifesting physically. Louise
Hay brought this information to the mainstream with her book ‘You can Heal your
Life’ and has helped millions of people discover the true cause of their
physical ailments – and thus heal themselves by changing their thoughts and
beliefs.
Add to this Epigenetics - a new field in modern science
proving that our genetic code holds memories connected to our parents,
grandparents and beyond, and that we respond physically (subconsciously) as if
those memories are ours! So for example if one of our ancestors lived through a
famine, we might be genetically predisposed to fearing we will die of
starvation and eat/put on weight accordingly. If one of our ancestors lived
through the Depression, we might be genetically predisposed to hold beliefs
around financial lack which in turn would lead to constant problems attracting
enough money. Awareness of these fears and beliefs is an important step toward
changing them – and we can change
them.
So while it’s essential to take responsibility for our
health with physical check ups, it seems equally essential to take
responsibility for our health, and every aspect of our life, with energy
‘check-ups’. It is important for us all
to be aware of the contents of our energy bodies: Are we aware of the thoughts
and visuals that regularly go through our minds? Are we aware of the beliefs we
hold, and are we conscious of whether they are supporting or sabotaging us? If not, we need to be because they are a huge
part of the process that creates our reality influencing our health, happiness,
relationships, abundance and every other aspect of our lives.
