Happy International Day of Peace all!
I remember years ago first watching Jeremy Gilley's documentary Peace One Day
as he went about trying to get world leader support so that the UN
could officially make Sep 21 an international day of global ceasefire
and non-violence - which they finally did. His documentaries are very
moving and emotional and worth viewing.
Today thousands of peace events
are being held all around the world which is wonderful. Ultimately
though peace isn't an event, it's a
decision we can all choose to make moment by moment. It isn't always
easy for any of us. Life can be stressful, causing us to fly off the
handle at any given moment be it toward our family, via road rage or
throwing missiles into another country.
So today, if not every day,
let's try to be a bit more mindful of peace when we feel ourselves
having a moment. We are all a member of a 7billion plus society. Every
one of us is a piece of the 7 billion plus jigsaw, so every one of us
has a part to play in doing our bit for the global intention for peace.
Have a lovely day x
