What’s New this Month: In Person Readings now in Sydney > New Column Series > Launch of Urth TV > Party Pics
What a month already! Here in Sydney the community spirit has reached a new level of unity after last month’s successful Earth Hour. Businesses and households were asked to switch off their lights and all electrical equipment for one hour at 7.30pm on March 31 to take a stand on Climate Change, and to show how simple it is to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. Over 2 million people participated, (around half the population of Sydney) resulting in a drop in energy consumption of 10.2% according to Energy Australia – the equivalent of taking 48, 613 cars off the road for that hour! The day-after pictures of the city, including suburbs up to an hour away, almost blanketed in darkness were amazing, and it’s inspiring to know how many people are of like mind and connected on this issue. The organizers (WWF) are now looking to make this day an annual national and international event. If you didn’t hear about it here’s a great article:

This month I am excited to share with you news of the public launch of Urth.TV on April 22 (Earth Day). To celebrate, Urth.TV have partnered with Green World Campaign to re-forest villages all around the world, and will be planting a tree for every new member that joins this month. Urth.TV have passed on their official launch newsletter which I’ve included below, inviting you to join this network of conscious action. Membership is Free. I highly recommend a browse through Urth.TV to watch a huge selection of inspiring and empowering media, and connect with thousands of like-minded souls. Onto other news, as I was putting this newsletter together early last week, we on the Eastern seaboard of Australia were slowly exhaling after a surreal day of tsunami warnings. Thankfully we remained safe, with most people saying how much they appreciated the alerts. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected in the Solomon Islands. Finally, if you celebrate Easter, I hope you had a wonderful, weekend of renewal and rebirth in the areas of life in which you need it most. The energies of the past week were strong, and provided an opportunity to have deep clearing and healing experiences. You may even feel this week as if you have been born anew with a fresh, clean slate with which to create the next chapter of your reality.

3 April – Full Moon Libra
The need for balance and justice will be strong this week. If a relationship, job, family, health or home issue has tipped too far to one extreme creating an imbalanced situation, you can be sure that emotions will surface to force a healthier playing field. Spending too much time at work? Listen to those feelings of irritation or restlessness that are asking you to get out and have some fun, play more or relax more. Giving too much, and not receiving your fair share? Your soul will tell you in some way it has had enough – start feeding yourself the same generous quantities you feed others.

17 April – New Moon Aries
This is like another New Year! A New Moon always indicates fresh starts, and Aries is the first sign in the zodiac representing our independent, free spirit, our entrepreneurial, pioneering side, our need to be our own person and make our mark on the world. We are nearly one-third through the year! Time to get out those resolutions and to do lists you created at the beginning of 2007. What have you done? What haven’t you done? What do you need to do to make your dreams and goals happen?
1) If you haven't already seen it, watch The Secret - a great reminder that you create your reality. Your thoughts create your reality. Your energy creates your reality. Your fears create your reality. So - do an energetic/emotional/mental/spiritual/physical inventory. Aries New Moon is a good time for a spring clean. What are you holding in your energetic, mental and emotional cupboards? If you don't like it, chuck it or change it.
2) Choose something you keep procrastinating about and write yourself a step by step plan. Usually we know what we want to achieve, we just don’t know where to start – because we become overwhelmed by the enormity of the bigger picture. So, start with the small picture. One jigsaw puzzle piece at a time.
3) Make a collage of your ideal life and stick it up on the wall where you can see it every way. Visualise yourself having this life and most importantly FEEL yourself having this life. If there are any subconscious blocks stopping you from having the life you desire these will naturally be brought up for your attention the more you focus on what you DO want. So Pay Attention to the feelings, thoughts, people and situations that come up when you start doing this process, they have big loud messages for you about what it is within you that has been holding you back!

Visioning the Dream Awake – March 2007
Short and sweet this month and running a tad late, that’s this month’s newsletter. We’ve just come out the other side from yet another Mercury Retrograde, and for me that meant my hard-drive had to go to computer hospital for a while. However now it has come out cleansed, cleared and feeling all brand new! Such is the way with astro happenings. Whatever they sweep aside or crash to the ground happens for a reason – relationships, jobs, homes, and yes even computers break down when we least expect it, providing an opportunity for overhauls, upgrades, renovations, transformations, or the entry of a completely new reality depending on how much change and improvement is needed! It can also be exciting as things you have been wanting forever suddenly appear magically right before your eyes. Right now we are in the middle of the eclipse season – the lunar eclipse happened on 4 March, whilst the solar eclipse is right around the corner on 19 March. If you feel like you are being swept up in winds of change, feeling like you have no control over what’s happening and no clue as to why it is happening then you are right on path and on track. Eclipses come along to pick you up from your old world, and set you down in a new one, just like the tornado in the Wizard of Oz. Be like Dorothy this week and embrace the interesting surreal events that may be occurring around you right now. They are taking you back home.

4 March – Lunar Eclipse & Full Moon in Virgo
Lunar Eclipses often trigger inner shifts related to emotional closure, or the letting go of a person, relationship, habit, behaviour, attitude, or way of being that is no longer serving you. It isn’t always what you expect – if you have been single for a long time, it might be time to let your walls go so that someone can find a way to your heart. If you aren’t living the kind of life you want to be living, or earning the income you feel you deserve, it may be time to release any fears or beliefs around what you are worth, or around what you have a right to achieve, so that you can attract what you really want. To find out if you’ll be affected, go to www.astro.com to get a free copy of your chart. If you have any planets around 13 degrees Virgo or Pisces, this weekend may be a watershed moment in your life, ultimately offering an opportunity for much healing and renewal. The day is now an official holiday in Armenia, Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. The tradition sees men honouring their mothers, wives, girlfriends, colleagues, etc with flowers and small gifts. Finally, the havoc being played out around our electrical appliances, computers, cars and communication devices can calm down. If you have had a strange few weeks where nothing seemed to be going right, and everything seemed to either break down or be delayed the light at the end of the tunnel is here. The lines of communication will be clear once again, repairs you have been waiting on will finally be completed, replies you have been waiting for will finally arrive, and deals you have wanted to strike can now safely be signed on the dotted line. If possible wait a few days to allow Mercury to get back into full direct motion for optimum results.

At 7.30pm on 31 March, WWF Australia and The Sydney Morning Herald are inviting Sydney to turn off its lights for one hour, to show that it’s possible to take action on global warming. Earth Hour is the launch of a 12 month campaign to reduce Sydney’s greenhouse gas emissions by 5%. This could happen if all businesses and households turned off unused lights and appliances on standby (switch off and unplug appliances if they are not being used). Visioning the Dream Awake – February 2007
Firstly, apologies to anyone who visited my site on 14 January or the days following. It was hacked into along with a bunch of other sites hosted by my provider. Apparently there is someone out there who couldn’t find a better way to make use of the powerful Mars/Pluto/Galactic Core conjunction of the night before. This rare astrological alignment sent powerful waves of energy through all of us, calling us to connect to the depths of our soul, to what we are most passionate about and aligning us with the core of who we really are. The alignment asked us: Who are you? Why are you here? When we aren’t aligned with our core this tidal wave of energy can come out in a destructive form that we turn inward, or project onto others. I hope the hacker finds more creative and positive ways this year to use his obviously large intelligence and expertise. My deepest thanks goes to all the people who emailed me to alert me to the situation, and for your immense support during that time. Thank you. It showed me that no matter what life looks like on the outside, it is the energy within that counts and that people respond to. And that is something no hacker can touch. It aligned me perfectly to my core, ha!
Everyone I know agrees that January was one of the most intense months we have experienced energetically so far. The year started off with a bang and never let up. After the year that was 2006, marked by two steps forward and one step back, 2007 has launched us full throttle into our new realities. The days are being filled with external events and inner shifts combined that are moving us along at a rapid rate into our destined selves. During these turbulent times it is more important than ever to take time to rest, recharge, stay centered and breathe. If you feel like everything is a bit out of control, you are not alone. We are being forced to disengage from anything and everything that doesn’t serve us, and are being pulled into a new space that has been waiting for us for a long time. Plug out of any dramas and the old reality, and connect to the core of who you really are where deep peace and self-love resides. Your core and your passion will show you the way forward.

Water Water Everywhere and Not a Drop to Drink
If there is one item that should be on the news every night, this is it. At the end of 2006, our catchment areas in New South Wales were only 37.5% full. As of today, a month later they are down to 34.8% full. If the overall rate of monthly and yearly loss continues we have until 2008-2010 before we get to the ‘dams empty’ state…. We all know how our Prime Minister feels about the threat of terrorism, but do we know how he feels about the fact we are predicted to be the first country to run out of clean, drinking water? As we enter a New Year there is a feeling of magic and extremely powerful manifesting energy in the air. Who do you want to be? What do you want to create? Observe the thoughts and visions you carry around in your mind every day, because now more than ever they are creating your reality. Observe what you are doing, compared to what you say you want to be doing. Don’t like your reality? Change your thoughts and visions. Change your actions. Love your reality? Keep doing whatever it is you’re doing! If you have a reality creation success story you’d like to share, please email me and I’ll include it in next month’s newsletter to inspire others!
One of the most powerful ways to create the reality you are here to live, your best reality, is to align with your true self. Here’s one way to do this: Every morning say “I now align my thoughts, words, actions and feelings with my true self.” The more you say this, and feel each word while you’re saying it, the more life will shift around you to match your intentions. Word of warning: this process will make more obvious all that is not your true self!!

Today is a great day to give yourself permission to be more crazy and eccentric over the coming year. Aquarians remind us that life is so much more interesting when we step outside the box and see things from a left of centre perspective. Wear something you wouldn’t usually wear, try an activity you’d usually be scared to try because it’s out of the norm. Pretend no-one is watching you live your life, what would you do?
The year of the Pig reminds us to have fun and enjoy ourselves. Eat, drink (safely) and be merry! Know when you are over-indulging. Enjoy good times with friends, get out there and socialize, don’t confuse being social with being superficial and surface, stay in honesty and integrity always, be kind and gracious to others, laugh and dance more, and always look for the peaceful solution.

Water water everywhere and not a drop to drink
In Australia we are increasingly being told to ‘save water’ with water restrictions understandably now in place. However, this is a bit like locking the gate after the horse has bolted. Why haven’t the media, and our government, been more active to do something about this issue? We are definitely getting more information than ever before which is great, but in my opinion the black and white facts of our current situation are not being made strongly enough or clear enough for the average, busy, information-overloaded viewer to really digest how dire the circumstances are.
If there is one item that should be on the news every night, this is it. At the end of 2006, our catchment areas [1] in New South Wales were only 37.5% full. As of today, a month later they are down to 34.8% full. [2] If the overall rate of monthly and yearly loss continues we have until 2008-2010 before we get to the ‘dams empty’ state. [3] This is not good obviously. I actually believe we aren’t going to get to the dams empty state because I believe in humanity’s ability to rise up with force when our survival is at stake. I am angry however that it has been more important for our government to spend money supporting an illegal, unethical, untruthful war in Iraq, than it is to make sure we all have drinking water in the future.
In case we need reminding, humans need two things to survive – oxygen and water. Surely they should be our number one priorities? Does it cost too much to have clean air and drinking water? Who cares! What use is a healthy economic climate if there are no people left alive to enjoy it?
When the issue is featured in the media, the greater balance of information is being geared toward the short-term band-aid solution of water restrictions, when in my opinion the long-term solution lies in a) working out how we are contributing to climate change, global warming and our ongoing drought and b) increasing our individual, state and national water storage facilities.
On point a) Australia and the US are two of the largest greenhouse gas emitters in the world. Neither country has signed the Kyoto Protocol. According to scientists working on the final draft of a new report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change the world has just 10 years to reverse surging greenhouse gas emissions or risk runaway climate change that could make many parts of the planet uninhabitable. Regarding point b) only now are rainwater tanks mandatory in all new residential buildings. Most existing homes don’t have one. We may have a water problem, but I would suggest our bigger problem is that we aren’t catching the water we do receive as effectively as we could be. Quite often when it rains it doesn’t rain over the main catchment areas. The areas that do receive rain are for the most part unequipped with water storage facilities. The rain gods must be looking down on us with amazement at our inability to co-ordinate ourselves so that we can adequately secure their gifts.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to increase the number of water collection and storage areas – rather than relying on saving the few drops we have left and hope it doesn’t run out eventually? Now, rainwater tanks can be expensive, many backyards are too small to fit the prescribed size and some of us don’t have a backyard, so it’s not necessarily feasible to make every individual home get one. However, most homes with a backyard could fit a rainwater barrel at least?
My grandmother has spent the majority of her life on a farm and has always had barrels and buckets outside to catch the rain. This can be used to water the garden, wash the car, supply the washing machine or for flushing the toilet. Most farmers do this because farmers know how precious this resource is, and what happens when we don’t have it. On a larger scale surely we have government, commercial or industrial land that could be used to build underground water storage tanks? Yes it comes at a financial cost, but the alternative cost is far greater.
We all know how our Prime Minister feels about the threat of terrorism, but do we know how he feels about the fact we are predicted to be the first country to run out of clean, drinking water? How do you feel about that? Now that we are in the last emergency minutes we are scrambling for a solution, including being in the midst of political and public debate regarding introducing an unpopular recycled water plan, and potential desalination plants along our foreshores.
If you aren’t an Australian let our country be a lesson to you in what not to do, don't leave critical issues till the last moment! Admittedly we’re a desert island so we had some challenges to start with but no excuses, we’ve always known we’re prone to drought and just didn’t do enough to address that fact. More sadly we made an already arid environment worse by giving priority to economic growth, industrial expansion and military spending over taking care of the environment and our natural resources. With enough information however, ordinary people will and are now addressing this issue. Perhaps this is the turning point we have needed to create a country and a world that lives in harmony with nature. It is the trigger we needed to start living with greater consciousness and awareness of the consequences of all our actions.
